Support us

A gift here is counted in children, not dollars.

Gifts pay for swim lessons at Waterloo Swimming. Our goal is one hundred children in our first year.

What a gift pays for

Give any amount. It buys lessons.

Gifts pool together. When enough has come in to cover a child, that child gets a scholarship — eight lessons of thirty minutes each, in a small group, taught by professional instructors at Waterloo Swimming.

Sponsors underwrite our events, so there is no minimum, no tier to reach and no part of your gift going to a party. Give what you want to give.

Tell us what you would like to do and we will send you everything you need. We do not take payments on this website yet.

Ways to give

Five doors, all of them open.

A direct gift

A check, a transfer, a donor-advised fund recommendation, or a pledge across the year.

Email us and we will set it up

Corporate sponsorship

Sponsors underwrite the food, drink and tents, so what guests give goes to lessons. Recognition is a logo and a name.

The tailgate

Come to a home game, eat, and give at the event. It is the least formal way in.

Donate goods or services

Not everything we need is money. Donated pool time, instructor hours, or rides to lessons all stretch the same budget further and put more children in the water.

Grants and foundations

Program officers, start here. We will send the governance packet exactly as it stands.

The tailgate

Fourth year in the Olympian Circle.

We gather outside the Lee and Joe Jamail Texas Swimming Center three hours before every Texas home football game.

Sponsors underwrite the food and drink, so what guests give goes to lessons instead of logistics.

  • 4th Year of the tailgate, held before every Texas home football game
  • 8 Austin businesses underwriting the food, drink and tents

The tailgate is our fundraiser, in its fourth year.

How the money works

How a gift becomes a lesson.

  1. Sponsors cover the event

Food, drink, tents, ice. The party pays for itself.

  2. Guests fund scholarships

What guests and direct donors give buys lessons, and nothing else.

  3. We pay the pool directly

The Foundation pays Waterloo Swimming directly, at a negotiated rate we are putting into a written agreement. There is nothing for a family to arrange, front, or claim back.

Food and drink at the tailgate are provided free by our sponsors, so a contribution made in connection with the event may have its deductible portion reduced by the value of what you receive. Please ask your tax advisor about your own situation.

For grantmakers

Everything you need for a grant file.

We can send our IRS determination letter, the certificate of formation, the bylaws and the board roster the same day you ask. Write to us and tell us what your process needs.
